Meet Pastor Thomas G. Sinnott:
God has called me to serve the church for many years, and God has done it again. I'm excited about being asked to be Saint Paul's Interim Pastor.
Here is a little bit about me, my past and some hopes for the future. I am married to Ileana Lindstrom, also a Lutheran Pastor. We live in Chestertown, MD. I have a BS in Chemistry, Wagner College, NYC; a M.Div. from the Lutheran Theological Seminary, Philadelphia and a D. Min. from the New York Theological Seminary, NYC.
In 1971 I was ordained as a pastor of the church. Since then I have served as Pastor in inner-city, suburban and rural settings, Assistant to the Bishop to develop inner-city ministries, Mission-Redeveloper, Interim Pastor, Chaplain and an Executive in health care administration (I'm a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in MD and DE). I am licensed by the Episcopal Diocese of Easton for ministry in the Easton Diocese and lead worship for Spanish-speaking members of Shrewsbury Parish (Episcopal) in Kennedyville, MD. Presently I am working with Lutheran Partners in Disaster Response to assist the Somerset County Long Term Recovery Committee in their recovery response to the extensive damage of Hurricane Sandy.
Bishop Herz-Lane and the Saint Paul's Congregation Council have asked me to provide pastoral care and leadership during the congregation's pastoral vacancy. I'm honored to be asked and will do my best to be your spiritual leader during the vacancy. I will have about 20 hours each week to do this work, therefore a strong partnership with the congregation's leadership and every member will be essential. I'll be with you three Sundays a month, plus for essential ministry during the week. I'll do my best to provide pastoral care and to support the Council as it prepares the congregation to call your next pastor.
Over the next months, I'll look forward to meeting you. In the meantime, God's blessings and peace be with you.
Pastor Thom Sinnott
